A passion for metal-smithing has inspired me to create one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. My designs prominently feature textured shapes and surfaces which I create by using traditional metal-smithing techniques as well as casting organic materials. Mixed metals, such as silver, gold and copper, juxtaposed with contrasting materials, such as acrylic and sea shells, is a hallmark of my designs.

As an artist, I am influenced by found objects, both natural and man-made;  Zaha Hadid's architecture, which uses industrial materials in contrasting sleek and textural surfaces; and other artists who pluck ordinary objects and present them in another context, as Andy Warhol did with Campbell Soup cans. As an engineer, I design with kinetic energy in mind, producing pieces that offer movement and provide a bit of unexpected whimsy.

I believe that well-designed jewelry is more than simple ornamentation. It is an artistic display, with each piece providing the wearer a unique opportunity to define and redefine her sense of style. Life is a continual costume party. Who will you dress as for today's soiree?
